The Year 1 children observed all the leaves falling from the trees around our school this week. They were excited to get involved in our big Autumn Clean Up! 🍁 With brushes, dust pans and wheelbarrows at the ready, they all got stuck in, sweeping up the leaves outside our classrooms and on the steps to the playground. It was hard work indeed! What a super way to develop their gross motor skills and social skills as they worked in pairs and groups to complete the job! There was lots of discussion about the season of Autumn as they collected the leaves. 🦔They even found a few little minibeasts as they worked away! 🪳🪱🐌🕷
The children also removed the weeds from our planting beds and planted daffodil bulbs. We can’t wait to observe as they grow in Spring.
