Year 4 enbraced outdoor learning and took their maths learning into the playground. They were able to measure in Metres, then mark it using chalk.They were then able to caluclaute both the area and perimter. Children also had the opportunity to measure the perimeter of both playgrounds using the trundle wheel- to their surprise- the "small yard" had a bigger perimeter than the "big yard!"Children also had a chance to look around their environment to find angles using their angle eaters and to sort 3D shapes in a Venn Diagram.
The children loved this and have gained so much knowledge from real life hands on learning.
