Spring in Reception
Sunshine + spring + Happy Hill = Happiness.
Today on Happy Hill the children went camping to Carrickmore! The campsite was that good we left it up over night to return to in the morning!
Mrs Playdough (aka Sheila) brings us new, different coloured playdough every week! Soooo much learning with the playdough! Long, longer, longest, short, shorter, shortest, thin, thinner, thinnest, thick, thicker, thickest...
The children also paint to make a pattern / wallpaper. We discussed the need for a repetitive sequence. This continued when playing with the lego - green, yellow, green, yellow... was a popular combination! I think we need to invest in more red and white lego bricks!!!! The coloured lolly pop sticks lent themselves to sequence and pattern too!
The children looked closely at the flowers of the cherry blossom and recreated them using red and white paint to create various shades of pink. The children used various shades of pink tissue paper too. We looked more closely at shades of the same colour (paint sample cards) and searched Happy Hill to see if we could find items in the environment to match.
Sooo much learning takes place everyday in Reception I could write ten paragraphs every day. I will let the photographs fill you in!
